We will be having family come in over the next few weeks/months to celebrate the birth of our baby. I'm sure while we will attempt to go out to eat at least once or twice. What are some good local restaurants that are reasonably priced in the Nashville area? We live on the Brentwood border, so nothing out Hendersonville or M-boro way (seeing as we won't want to travel that far with a newborn). We moved here in December, and we don't go out to eat all that often (or know of that many good local restaurants) so your suggestions are very much appreciated!

Thanks!

We find a lot of restaurants on this list http://www.nashvilleoriginals.com/ because we prefer to avoid chains and these are privately owned.

You can check out the menus and see if there is something that you'd enjoy and is in your price range. Good Luck!

It will help to know your budget, whether you're looking for "family friendly" restaurants, or looking for something more intimate.

You've got pretty much anything you want in Cool Springs...many are chain restaurants of course. Maybe a little more info will help us guide you.

I would check out City House or Margot's. Both of the head chef's were nominated for the James Beard award for Best Chef Southeast this last year if that matters. I've been to both and their excellent but might might not fit the reasonably priced criterea.

Nashville - Nashville Scene - Bites - Margot and City House Get Beard Nods

For more resonably priced options, there's always Demo's downtown. DaVinci's is running a half price special on Friday's from 4-6 (I would call to make sure their still running the special first).

If you are thinking of going to any upscale restaurants you may want to check first as to whether or not they discourage bringing babies.

Shabang – Maybe Longhorn in Brentwood (as a chain), J Alexander’s in Cool Springs (nicer chain), Pie in the Sky pizza in Lenox Village off Nolensville Road (way casual), Finezza Italian Grille (fairly nice, but not fancy? at the highway 70 and highway 100 split), Chile Burrito (casual in Brentwood, and in Lenox Village now?).

These have all been easy and accommodating to have a new born at recently; if you happen to have a night without the kiddo - probably a different list (grin).

Some restaurants discourage babies? Seriously, they say that?

Good Old Pucketts in Franklin never disappoints us! Nice, varied menu and I've never had a bad meal there. it's a fun place to go.
