Hello,
I am looking to find some networking groups like BNI or others that connect business owners and/or community leaders, etc. I will be a new professional in town and would like to start meeting as many people in the community as I can. Can anyone provide some insight?

Thanks a bunch

Some of the best networking is through the church of your choice.

Your best bet locally would be to join the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. It is a great place for newcomers to meet established business owners and city leaders and get involved in the community. Involvement here will lead to other opportunities to join other professional groups.

The old stereotype applies - there are lots of locals and sometimes it can be difficult for a newcomer to assimilate. If you embrace your new community and refrain from comparing it negatively to wherever you came from, you'll be ok.

Joining the country club wouldn't hurt, either. Don't know where you're coming from, but business and social networking go hand-in-hand around here. If you're not a church-goer, you'll need to find another social outlet that involves the whole family.
