I moved to Franklin from CA. There are many beautiful places to choose from in Middle TN...since you and you wife have different frames of reference...about city and country living...then Franklin/Cool Springs/Brentwood can offer both. You can drive out of those areas and in 15 minutes you ~feel~ like you are in the country! It's wonderful! ..and you have all the conviences of shopping, restaurants, entertainment....

Coming from another state..and a very fast paced one at that...everything got much slower once I got here...even tho there is traffic ..and many comment on how bad it is....at least while you are moving slowly on the highways, you have the most beautiful trees, brilliant birds, and limestone layers/shelves (that even freeze icicles in winter) to keep you entertained.

Mt Juliet has some beautiful homes w/ nice large lots for well within your budget. Its a growing area and has a huge shopping district off the interstate now but the older area is largely the same. You'll get a sense of community and close proximity to both Antioch (by way of Hobson Pk) and Percy Priest lake. Definitely keep it open in your home search.

Actually, I believe Sumner County is more densely populated than Williamson County. It's a wonder it doesn't sink into a hole.
