Thanks for reading this and any comments are very much appreciated . I will be moving next month but would very much like to have a job lined up. I have experience in social work, IT, insurance...I have looked at Careerbuilder and Craig's List. I am pretty much open to working in most any field-I will be working on my Master's as well. Can anyone guide me in the right direction, or does anyone know someone hiring now? Thanks for any imput!

Hmmm... I would seriously try to land that job before relocating. While Nashville's job market is more diverse and able to weather recessions better than most, things just stink generally everywhere. From what you told me, I'd look into jobs at Vanderbilt, Belmont, TSU, Lipscomb or the other colleges in town. You might even look at the community colleges (Nashville Tech and Volunteer State in Gallatin are two possibilities). Also, don't overlook MTSU, it's growing like a weed.

If you're wanting to move here because you think you'll like it (I assume you've been to Nashville before), I encourage you to get job/home/school nailed down before moving. I think it can be done, as Nashville is a great place for people to find a new beginning and start businesses, school, and other things that set them on the course they seek.

I wish you the very best, and don't give up the pursuit.

One more thing... I think it would help a lot if you are able to travel to whatever prospective employer you may find that shows interest. Send out your resumes, call, get a name, see if you can arrange a visit with a key contact (if possible HR and a hiring manager), and then let them know you're willing to relocate. The companies that are interested in you may even offer a relocation package.... zing!!! That would go a long way in helping your move. Good luck.
