My wife and I may be considering relocating to Nashville, we were looking at Knoxville but I may possibly have a job opportunity in Nashville. My question is, How often does Nashville get Tornadoes? and how bad are they? Is is as bad as places like Oklahoma or Kansas? My wife had lived in Kansas for a short period and hated it because of tornadoes. We currently live in Houston, TX and I can't stand it here anymore, there is way too much crime and too many people especially too many foreigners. Anyways back to the main topic, I know everwhere has there bad weather but are tornadoes a big issue of concern there? How about the crime? I had read one poster in Nashville say that there is a lot of crime and also said there is a lot of traffic, is this true? I know that those are opinionated questions but to anyone living in Nashville that has lived and worked in other cities that can compare. Thanks.

The Nashville area (Davidson County) hasn't been hit directly in a few years. But there has been a number of tornados that have hit outside the metro area. Gallatin (northeast of the city) a few years ago and Murfreesboro (southeast of the city) last spring were "bad ones" (M-boro was an F4).
You other point of foreigners? There is a LARGE hispanic population in the area.

By foreigners I meant people actually from other countries, and normally that wouldn't bother me but there are so many here and the attitudes that they bring with them from their countries is what I can't stand. I live in Houston, TX so I don't think you can have anywhere near the amount of hispanics that are here. You put bad ones in quotes, so do you personally think that they aren't bad enough to worry about that much?

Yes, we have tornados here. Some small and some huge. It's just part of living here, as earthquakes are in CA. There is no pattern. We have excellent weather technology and the TV stations keep you well-informed when the weather gets severe. Foreigners I have encountered here do not carry that "attitude" to the degree Ihave experienced elsewhere.
