I am going to Ohio for a long Memorial Day weekend. I have a 3 1/2 month old kitten that I'm working on scheduling arrangements for now, to have that taken care of.

When I go to work during the day, he has the run of my apartment. I come home at 4:30 and take classes online, so I'm always home at night with him. I've never been gone long enough to need him to go somewhere when my mom wasn't able to keep him, but this time my mother is going with me.

Does anyone have any recommedation of some places? I just want him well taken care of while I'm gone. We're going to visit my ederly grandmother, so my immediate family is going with me, so I dont really have an option of leaving him with someone.

I live in Nashville, near Brentwood, but will take recommendations anywhere in Mid-TN, really, I just want to find a nice place!!!

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Default Pet Boarding

I am also looking for somewhere to board my small dog for the week of May 15-22nd. I am new to the area and want a nice/affordable space. She's part beagle and needs room to run. Any recommendations?

We used My Second Home twice for our large dog, and they took great care of her. They do require that you're current on shots.

This place is in Franklin. I've never been there, but I noticed it the other day when I was looking for apartments in Franklin.

I'll never board the dogs ever again. We left them with a facility in NH (when we lived there) that was very high end, expensive and highly recommended. We left our Saint with them for three days and when we picked him up he smelled like he had been laying in a sewer the entire time. I was furious. We now use in home pet sitters. We haven't needed one since we moved here, but there are a few out there. Just make sure they are insured, bonded and get references (and check them). If they are reputable, they will have it handy. The one we used in DE kept her paperwork in a notebook with some recommendation letters.

Franklin Kennels is a good place that takes care of our dog when we leave town.

I just remembered this place. Some friends of mine who were VERY picky used to board their two dogs at Miss Kitty's regularly.

If you are just going away for the weekend and the kitten is used to being in the house, why don't you just provide a few litter boxes and enough cat food for the weekend.
