I am completing my first year of teaching and am interested in taking some courses towards a masters degree. I was just wondering if anyone knows if any of the colleges around here offer the classes/programs online. I know they have the out of state colleges that do the online programs but I looking into local schools.
Thanks!

You might check out the Tennessee Board of Regents online program at RODP M.Ed. & Education.

With that program, you choose any one of the TBR schools (MTSU, TSU, TTU, Austin Peay, ETSU, or Memphis) to be your degree-granting university. Depending upon your area of practice/expertise, you may find that the M.Ed. offered by the program works for you.

Best wishes.

My wife is in the MTSU program. It's a lot of work, but she seems to be doing okay. I think Trevecca also offers an online M.Ed. as well. Good luck.

Does anyone have experience with the RODP program? Or have you heard anything about it?

My wife is doing it now through MTSU. Like I said before, it seems to be okay but a lot of work (which is to be expected for a Master's program). What are your questions and I'll ask her tonight?

I think I'm going to do it through TSU. I expect it to be a lot of work, I was going to do 3 classes this summer, would she think this is a lot to start off with? It's the most they allow me to do since I am employed full time and I would like to complete it by next December. I guess just overall how it has been for her and if she's had any problems.

She's taking 2 right now and working full time and it's a real load for her. I honestly can't imagine her taking 3. I'm not saying it's impossible...it would be a heavy load. I'll ask her tonight and see what she says.
