Is it more in the bible belt. Just want an idea about the area. Don't want to feel like an outsider?
You will feel like an outsider not because of how you are treated - you will because that's what you are - a visitor in their domain. You only have one home town - your own. A yankee will have a lot to adjust to here - it aint Massachusetts - not even close. Very little historic stuff.
You'll find other outsiders and probably be more comfortable in their company than the locals - they're friendly but cautious and I don't blame them -I'd feel the same way. good luck..love beantown...

Hey there!

M'boro is also a great, great area to invest in...like the rest of Middle Tennessee. Our area here is one of the top markets in the nation right now and it's continuing to grow. Oh, and, yes, the locals are totally ok with outsiders moving in...so come on over!!

Also -- about the Mexican food -- You can't go wrong with Camino Real or La Siesta!!

Default re: Mexican food in M'boro

My wife and I ate at La Hacienda for the first time this weekend; it was really good.

It's in the S. Rutherford Wal-Mart shopping center, and I believe it opened fairly recently.

Honestly, I moved to Brentwood from NYC 5yrs ago and I've never been to Murfreesboro so I can't comment on whether its nice or not. Williamson county is nice though and no one from MA is going to think its expensive.

Thumbs up What a great place to live!

Murfreesboro is sure to keep expanding for the forseeable future, but the good news is that the influx of people have brought with them the class that we have long deserved. New business and subdivisions abound, but are certainly taking this city to the next level. We may not be at Brentwoods level yet, but then again neither are the prices of real estate. Check out more on the 'boros real estate market and stay informed with the Jones Team's blog at Find Real Estate services in Murfreesboro, TN - The Jones Team It's not tailored to advertise, it's written by a top real estate professional in lehmans terms, so everyone can understand what Rutherford county real estate fuss is about. You can choose your own realtor...we're just offering a little help on understanding the local market.

My sister and I live in Central Florida and we drove to Nashville last October for a weekend. Our main goal was to see if we liked what we saw (for future residence). We did!

My sister fell in love with the 'Boro. We both enjoyed our trip to Nashville and the surrounding areas.

With a little luck, we'll move there in a few years.
