Can anyone recommend any shooting ranges within 60 miles or so of Nashville? Rifle and pistol. Outdoor preferred. Thank you.

There's Stones River Hunter Education Center in Antioch on Hobson Pike (641-8896) that is outdoors. That's the only public outdoor shooting range that I know of. As far as indoor places go, it's really hard to beat Guns and Leather in Greenbriar. They are very busy on the weekends, but their range is really top-knotch.

Here's a list of other local places:

Nashville Shooting Ranges, Nashville Gun Shooting Ranges, Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays,Indoor Pistol, Indoor Rifle,Muzzleloading, outdoor rifle, outdoor pistol,

I agree with DonCorleone with both locations being the best for outdoor and indoor.

I go to The Montgomery County Shooting Complex quite a bit. Its in Southside Tennessee. It has a range up to 400 yards. Its probably my favorite, but its also one of the closest ones to me.

More information here: http://www.tennessee.gov/twra/montgomerycomplex.html

This is also a good informational page about some other ranges in the area: http://www.tennessee.gov/twra/firingranges.html

Hope this helps! Happy shooting!

You know you're in the South when people refer to "ranges" for shooting and not driving...

Too funny! I love target shooting at the range as well as golfing at a driving range.
