Y'all, more than likely they are OK...but also more than likely their homes are not. Lets give them a few more days to find their way back to reality. Not sure if either of you have been over to that side of town, but it is CRAZY. I have spent a good chunk of the week over there helping friends...the images on TV do nothing to show the true extent of the devistation.

Alleycat's last post was December 1st, 2009. I don't think he's around anymore.

I wonder what happened. He was here for a long time, and had many reps. I know he was the Engineer for the building of the opryland Hotel. I think a few on the board had contact with him, giving out free tickets, etc

To Diane and others:

I'm okay, and my house is okay. I was in the middle of the flood area (not far from the Harpeth River), but my house is on a high enough elevation that no water got near my house. At one point I was a little worried about a storage building I have in the back yard. I didn't have phone or Internet service until this morning, and, because they wouldn't let us into MetroCenter, I wasn't able to go in to the office until yesterday. I've spend the week with police cars and TV camera crews parked in front of my house (you know something happened when you look out and see Anderson Cooper walking down your street).

Some of my friends and neighbors didn't fare so well. One of the women I work with, and who lives near me, lost both cars and their house suffered major damage. I've offered to play chauffeur and errand boy for her, and this morning we're going to see about ripping the sub-floor out of the house.

It's hard to get around in Bellevue these days on some streets because of the volunteer efforts, the on-street parking, and the the debris removal.

Thanks for everyone's concerns. Again, other than being inconvenienced a little bit, I haven't had any major problems.

I tried to call you yesterday. No wonder there was no answer. Glad you're okay.

I AM pretty mad at you, though. You had AC in your hood and didn't tell me?!?!?!?!
