We are planning to relocate to the Franklin/Brentwood area and we are coming down in early June to check out some neighborhoods. We know we can find a home we like, the most important thing to us is to find the right neighborhood. One of the struggles we have in our current neighborhood is that most of the kids are a little bit older, 5 years and up. We have a 3 year old and a 5 month old. It is hard to find kids in the neighborhood to play with and parents that we have things in common with. We are hoping to find that in a neighborhood in the Franklin/Brentwood area. For those of you that know the areas well, can you recommend subdivisions that are very family oriented, lots of kids out playing, etc. Our price range is $300K - $350K. We want a 4 bedroom with a min. of 2600 sq. ft. We also want to make sure we are in a great school district. Thanks for any help you can provide!

McKay's Mill would be perfect. Right in your price range and hundreds of kids of all ages.

There aren't that many subdivisions in Brentwood that fit your criteria. Bridgeton Park is one I thought of, but I have friends who lived out there who recently moved closer in because they got tired of the drive out Concord Road. Plus Concord Road is going to be under some major construction for a while.

Now in Franklin you will find plenty. I second McKay's Mill. I would also suggest
Fieldstone Farms, Forrest Crossing, Eagles Glen, Cheswicke Farms and Sullivan Farms.

Some of the Franklin neighborhoods are zoned Williamson County Schools, some Franklin Special School District. Just be sure to note which ones. They all will funnel into WCS high schools eventually.

Unfortunately, we have not found a house yet. We are still waiting on our house to sell up here in Chicago. We have had a lot of interest, but no real offers. I am dreading another Chicago winter. We have about 1 more month of active time on the house market, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.
