Well, my daughter has relocated to Nashville from California. First, thanks to all those drivers that might have been cut-off by the driver with California plates because we drove all over Nashville last week (we were not being rude but we had a few sudden surprises - most of the time we did just go to the next exit). Everyone we met were great. I love Fido's for my latte fix. The easy pace will be good for my daughter while she is in school. We love the Cool Springs shopping. The Airport was great, I love that 10 minute wait area. The only problem I had was the heat. By the end of the day I was dragging...but like I tell others get over it and keep on going. Oh and the best thing - you have a great jazz station (I think it is 89.9?). I have my little Kroger card. Now I just need to find where they serve Bar-B-Q chicken since I don't eat pork or beef. Thx for your hospitality.

Famous Dave's is good, or Shane's Rib Shack. They both have chicken options.

Glad you had a good visit! Is your daughter a student at Vandy?

We know to look out for people with out-of-state plates. Some of the streets and roads around Nashville are quirky anyway. I grew up in Clarksville; when I first started driving to Nashville I got a few surprises. I'd be driving down the street and all of a sudden my lane would turn into a parking lane. I'd never seen that before. Back then they barely had signs to warn you.

Drink water, and drink Gatorade. Don't get out in the heat of the afternoon if you can help it. Dress in light, loose clothing (linen is wonderful).
