Yep. The one's I've been seeing are kind of this weird flesh color though. Had to look it up when I first saw it.
Did anyone know that Utah has these insects that eat spiders? They're smaller than them but I see them dragging the spider out and flying off with them. Very weird.
Well spring has already arrived here in Charleston SC...azaleas blooming, bulbs up, trees leafing green...
I've seen many Red-bellied woodpeckers in the woods behind my house... as well as Pileated woodpeckers...and lg flocks of Robins, the harbinger of spring.
The little green anoles/lizards are starting to appear and lemon, lime and mandarin orange trees are blooming...
Dolphins are feeding along the coast, Gannetts still diving for fish out past the break line of the ocean.
Still cold and snowy here in southern Ontario. But the last 4-5 days has seen the arrival of grackles, redwing blackbirds and robins, as well as the re-emergence of my chipmunk buddies from hibernation.
In the pic below, taken a year or two ago, you might note a mosquito having lunch on the chipper's forehead.

Beautiful TroutDude thank you for sharing, my fellow Canadian
Two birds built a nest in the rafters of my porch. I noticed them when they first got started. Both of them worked on it together. One of the birds laid eggs and they hatched into baby birds One bird would stay with the nest while the other bird went out to get food for babies. One day, a cat got one of the grown birds and the remaining grown bird went out almost the next day and got a willing replacement to tend the nest! Watching this saga unfold, as it paralleled everyday life among humans was kind of fun....
I wonder if those birds are from Los Angeles??? (LOL)
That's a neat way to feed! Just swim along at the surface with mouth open! Very interesting, bjh! Thanks for posting!
