I set up finally my birdbath and as soon as I left the garden my Robins had a pool party. I just love watching them from my kitchen window.

Our pair of wrens was hopping around this morning all puffed up from the chilly weather. So pretty.

And a whole group of newly fledged sparrows (ugh-but so cute) this evening at dusk digging and skipping around the edge of the lawn.

Spiders are great for all the bugs they eat.

That bird did it again! The window is right by kitchen table so when I'm eating I can watch.

I love spiders!

Filled up the hummingbird feeders yesterday, had one so far!

I have outside at the entrance right behind my dryer flaps a Grackle nest with 2 blue eggs. I had to remove it yesterday due to fire hazard. They build a new nest today and I removed that again We have to do something about this situation. Also I have a Morning Dove pair nesting in a corner of my house, but that is alright. They are not scarred of me at all. I cleaned my eavestroughs and they never moved an inch Amazing!

Can you lean something against it, like a window screen? Something to block them from going into the vent.

It's disturbing to have to remove the nest and eggs!

The vent is on second floor, so we may have to call someone in who knows what to do , because they tried to built a new nest today.

Default How lucky can one man be..........?

Just within the last 2 weeks I have begun my 38th yr in Montana;....my 34th year of living on this property and my 82nd year of "just-plain-livin'!!!,!
Just yesterday I saw the following "wildlife" through my sliding glass door in the living room:......

2 mated pairs of Gamble quail;... one beautiful wild Tom Turkey following 4 Hens;...2 cow Elk;.....9 Whitetail deer;.....one Osprey;....one Pilieated Woodpecker, 3 Mountain Blue Birds and numerous other birds, woodpeckers, squirrels and chipmonks.
;
Admittedly, being just 1/2 mile from the Bitterroot mountains;...1 1/2 miles from the Bitterroot river;..... 12 miles outside of town, 200 yards from a forty foot wide creek and my closest neighbor is 300 yards away through the woods...........does provide an environment favorable for "all my wild friends".

As a much younger man, I never missed a "hunting season" for elk,deer,bear,moose,etc,etc,etc..
Now my gun-safe stays locked, my bird-dog is now "the-boss" and my late wife (51yrs) would not believe
how my desire to "hunt" has lessened.

.....Carpe Diem...........

I maintain yards for a living and have been for over 30 years now. I was mowing a yard that is below a local park with large trees and was looking at the forest and saw a large, 160 foot tall, Douglas fir tree release a cloud of pollen that was about 20 feet across, it just went poof and this large yellow cloud of pollen floated off the tree and drifted around till it disipated. I have never witnessed this type of event before.
