I'm been seeing a pair of humming birds in the backyard for the last several weeks now. They'll come around feeding time in the morning. I guess I should buy one of those humming bird feeders and hang it up.

It's been unseasonably warm here the last couple days and I saw a honey bee in the back yard.

When DH was shoveling snow this weekend he noticed a rabbit sitting in front of our house door on our Welcome mat resting and watching him.

Sunday night I saw a flock of sandhill cranes for the first time in my life. It was amazing, you can here them coming for a mile.

Last evening on my way home from work, just before dusk, a sandhill crane flew overhead. Beautiful! He didn't land in the [presently frozen] marsh where I expected him to land, and I wonder where he was heading. There is no shallow open water anywhere near here right now.

^^ I thought sandhill cranes were only in Nebraska area..... thus the name because of the sandhills north of the Platte River where so many of them are located because of their migrations...... Their amazing birds.....

Stepped out the door to go bird watching at the park, and there was a red-shouldered hawk in the tree across the street!

Birds at the feeder rather late-5:30. They're usually gone by 3:30-4:00. And 3 cardinals have joined the feast-2 males and a female. The female was eating-the males were trying to chase each other off. Guess spring really is just around the corner.

Been looking out at the backyard watching birds in the trees, cats snoozing in the bushes and drinking from the bird bath (they are welcome to btw) and neighbors in their backyard.

I noticed several wasps flying around the area outside of the garage over the last couple of days. Well today I saw two of them coming out through a crack between the door and the frame from inside………………. I didn’t see any inside yet, however I’m keeping my eyes opened for a while and taking the needed precautions. If I can find any new home inside that they are trying to build I’ll have to remove it for sure.
