Yesterday morning there was a bird standing on one of the fountain ponds that isn't working.
I couldn't tell what type of bird it was, so after 2-3 hours I used my binoculars and saw that
it was a double-crested cormorant. Odd thing about it was he was on that for over 10 hours.
We had dozens of honey bees on a particular flower in our back yard yesterday. I noticed they are all over the Elaeagnus shrubs in the neighborhood too. I didn't notice many during the summer, but they are quite active now. I suppose they are stocking-up for winter.

Interesting. I have noticed a lot more honey bees here in southwestern NJ, too. Although they do seem to move more slowly in the chilly weather.
