It was mostly the bumblebees that were chasing me. The honeybees chased me too, but less aggressively. That's pretty cool, I think you are a bee whisperer!

Or were they carpenter bees? I really dislike how they're always in my face and defending their territory.

They were bumblebees, looked different than the many carpenter bees we'd get on the siding of the old wood house in Alabama. Kinda interesting that they always left me alone as I often sat on the front porch with my dogs. Clearly, their home was behind the siding. They seemed really tame to me.
