Interesting article. I have a problem with the source. Any web page that has the content on it that this one does (right side scroll through all the stupid crap) loses credibility as far as I'm concerned.

I'm of two minds. Stereotyping, the Russians LOVE a good yarn and being able to sucker in the gullible. However, methane release likely will happen on unprecedented scales over the next few decades anyway, so even if it is a yarn, it needs to be examined.

It's interesting that these fountains of methane off the Siberian coast match the deposits of gas hydrates discovered by the USGS
