I was scrolling down and saw your post and thought of

Isaiah 11:6
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

The evidence of the cursed creation is the lion not lying down with the lamb.

There is so much wrong with this I cannot even begin...

"Her life is over, but her teachings live on. Of the many lessons she taught, not the least is that love removes fear and savagery. Little Tyke reflected the love and care shown to her after the first few moments of her precarious birth" .

Really? Lions are killers...because they are not loved?

Lions are killers because that is their instinct and function in nature.

What, exactly, would lions eat, if not other animals? God made lambs out of meat for a reason.

I'm thinking Dude's point is that even Lions are a product of their environment to some degree, so if kept in a cage and abused one can expect one type of abberation, and if taken into a domestic environment and coddled, one can expect a much different abberation. My problems with it is that a. the second abberation- the coddling one- is not reliable. Natural instincts trump anything we humans can do, usually. b. A situation in which a Lion is so dependent on a human (to the point of not being a Lion anymore) is not a triumph and not a model that should be held up as something to emulate.

This is related to the treatment of Grizzly Bears by tourists in our National Parks which I abhor ( i realize this isn't as common these days): If we feed them enough Crackerjacks by hand they begin to take on the appearance of being gentle and tame animals, that is until some kid gets mauled.

To suggest that these types of animals kill because they've just been raised wrong is anthropomorphic and naive in the extreme! Lions are wild animals. It doesn't matter the environment they are raised in because they are genetically hard wired for the lifestyle they've evolved into. Idiots who keep wild animals as pets often find their lives taken over, and sometimes their limbs or face removed. Sometimes they are killed by their "pet."
