Rented a small cottage on a barrier island for a few days during Christmas (alone). Saw deer, birds, Little Blue Herons, Tri-colored herons, Great Egret, Snowy Egrets, and of course, Great Blue Herons

But then came a bobcat! Never seen one in the wild and it was awesome. Such a beautiful animal...just sauntering along. Made my day.

A memory to treasure, for sure. And one I hope to emulate one day. Good for you.

(The Great Blue is my primary totem.)

I would have loved to see it. My friend outside of Albany,NY (Altamont) has seen one in her yard meandering about. Wooded large area. We were just talking about it yesterday actually.

We live in Arizona and have seen them several times. One walked across our patio (we were inside) like it owned the place and then we saw a couple on the golf course. Beautiful animals.

I saw one in Western NC along a horse riding trail. I was walking along by myself and thought I saw someone with a scruffy dog coming around a corner, dog in the lead. So I called to the dog so as not to frighten it and the 'dog' froze. Of course no person ever came around the corner behind it. I took a few steps forward, and then it dawned on me: 'tweren't a puppy! I had no idea they were so small. I took a photo but it was of course too far away with the camera I had to look like much. Still, it was pretty cool.

I came face-to-face with a sitting Bobcat on a nature trail in Florida. I thought it was a big Tom at first, but then I realized he was as tall as the rail. He just looked at me for a second, then gracefully/effortlessly jumped onto the rail, then off into the scrub. I will always remember that moment.

Lol....pretty cool, indeed!

Not that much bigger than a large house cat, but longer legs....the markings are stunning.
