There is a weird animal (mammal) that has almost a human like face - creepy. I can't for the life of me think of what it's called.
Anyone know what animal this is? It's driving me nuts.

I wouldn't call it "weird", but the mammal (primate) most resembling a human is the Bonobo. Along with Chimpanzees, which reportedly share over 98% of our DNA, Bonobos are our closest living relative.

I don't think it was a primate. I know that I said it was a mammal but maybe it was a bird? I remember seeing pictures of these animals when I was a kid and it really made an impression on me.
Last night my son asked me what the weirdest animal on the planet is and I immediately thought of those creatures. I just can't remember what the heck they are called! I never actually studied about them, just saw the pics - the name is right there but just won't come to me. Aargh. So frustrating.

Maybe it was a spider...or maybe it was a lizard? Sorry, but you may need hypnotherapy to find your answer.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a type of monkey. It wasn't a lizard or a bug.
I've tried looking around on the internet but I haven't found it, yet. Sorry I can't be any more specific.

I'm pretty sure I was reading a nature book, maybe an encyclopedia of some sort. This was roughly 35 some years ago...

you're pretty sure but you aren't 100% sure. so it isn't a primate, it isn't a bug or reptile. was it an animal with different animal parts with a human face?
