That was REALLY scary, and could have turned out real bad for me, had not a logging truck come around the bend right then, I followed up close to the truck, until I knew I was safe...at least from mama bear.....Most of my run-ins have been with bears picking berries.
The reason none of your run-ins with the bears turned out bad may have been because they were too busy eating (one of their favorite things to do lol). It is still scary to just come upon one, especially if there are cubs involved.
