Willie took up residence in late summer. He terrorized the cats, attacked his own reflection in hub caps, and slept on the roof, even in vicious thunderstorms. Willie wasn't too bright, apparently. He enjoyed accompanying people around the property, showing no fear. The best thing about Willie is that he wiped out every cricket around the place. But as October neared November, Willie drifted off. Maybe he got nervous as Thanksgiving was just around the corner, or maybe he thought it was time to find a Lady Willie.

Do you have any pictures of Willie? I had a Basenji dog we named Willie, short for Wilhelmina. She was a good dog.

Sounds like Willie had a great life while he graced your presence.
What kind of critter was Willie?

I'm guessing Willie was a turkey due to his Thanksgiving issues.

Willie was indeed a turk, apparently a refugee from a nearby turkey farm that folded. A truly wild turkey probably wouldn't have cozied-up like he did; they are extremely skittish. In subsequent yrs., other turkeys adopted us also, one time a group of three, but none stayed as long as our Willie.
