If you can watch this raccoon steal cat food and not laugh at the last 10 seconds, then you need to have your sense of humor examined !

I guess I need my sense of humor examined. It looked to me like a wild raccoon stealing the cats food. Luckily it didn't bite or attack the cats, they can be pretty nasty creatures.

Raccoons are bipedal! Who'd have thunk? Does that mean they're poised to take over when humans are gone? They've already got hands...

I wouldn't let my cats near a raccoon. I know my poodle had an almost run in one night years ago, when I was young, w/ a raccoon. He was trying to get in garbage, open top of it just as poodle was let out to pee. We heard a noise and went out and saw the raccoon running away.

OK so the rascal tiptoeing away is funny but I posted this same video on Cats Forum last week abou the dangers of outside cats and especially unvaccinated cats. Out in the middle of the day is very alarming...more scary than funny to me as well.

Apparently the cats aren't too surprised to see this raccoon. (I thought the video was funny, by the way.)

Hope the cats' rabies vaccinations are up to date.

The cats clearly think that raccoon is another cat - kinda peculiar looking and acting, but definitely feline, in their view. Since the three cats are obviously buddies who get along, they appear to have the same tolerant activity towards the raccoon. Maybe they think he's a Maine Coon Cat.

The raccoon I discovered in my back yard late one night a few weeks ago was standing up on his hind feet, holding a stale roll I'd left out for the birds in both hands. When he saw me, he dropped to three feet and rapidly departed, still hanging onto the roll with the one paw/hand/foot not being used for running away.

Critters encounter other critters all the time. They know it's a different species. They wouldn't try to mate with it if it was in season.
