The People’s Park of Luohe in the Chinese province Henan has an amazing “African lion” on exhibit for spectators. But the most amazing fact about this proud creature is that it’s actually a dog, not a lion.

As Agence France-Presse reports, the hoax was exposed when the dog, a Tibetan mastiff, started barking.

But really. Would anyone think that was a lion?? Even if it didn't bark? A bear maybe. But it doesn't look at all like a lion to me.

There were a couple of other bogus animals in that zoo, too. This article you've linked calls them "substitute" animals, lol!

I suppose if someone had never seen what a lion looked like at all they might not know and think it was true. Pretty pathetic though.
