How do you determine if the swan is mute or it just dont feel like making noises?
If we are going to exterminate all species that bother us why is nothing being done to eliminate
Pigeons
Squirrels,
Skunks
Seagulls
Stray dogs and cats
Muscovie Ducks
Canada geese.
Best course of action is leave the damn wild animals alone, this world is to be shared by all creatures..

They aren't "human" traits. That is arrogance. They're traits of the species. Mute swans have mute swan traits. Not reason to call them or think of them as human traits. Doing so is an attempt to create an emotional attachment.
Only a person who does not value animals or their place in this world could type this and feel this . I will venture to say that timberline does not have pets nor has he ever been taught to place value on every life .

I would venture to say that you're wrong. Loving domesticated animals does NOT mean that you can't support the removal of non-native species from ecosystems by various means.
Snip. I'm honest enough to admit that I don't like some animals because they cause harm to me and mine. I put fleas, mice, and yellow jackets at the top of that list. Since I understand that they do serve purposes in ecosystems (I'm not sure what the flea's place is TBH), I don't try to exterminate them unless they invade my pets, my house or my yard.
^^^ Fleas and yellow jackets aren't comparable to Mute Swans and the comparison IS absolutely ridiculous (and so is using snakes as an example).
Those Mute Swans are not doing any harm and there will not be any significant improvements made by extirpating them.
It's humans that have caused the destruction, not the animals. How about stopping the humans from invading the wild areas? Now we're talking sense.
