Never knew this about prairie voles. What other animals mate for life? Obviously it has nothing to do with intelligence or preservation.

Bald Eagles mate for life. I have read that the Bald Eagle was not only chosen as our national symbol because of its strength and longevity, but also because of its representation of fidelity. Not sure if true, but interesting nonetheless.
