The BBC reported on a new small species of penguin which was discovered in Antarctica. Unlike the much heavier King Penguins, this smaller species has abilities which are unique among penguins. As much as we know about this world, it's always amazing to make new discoveries!

Does everybody know now that this was the BBC's annual April Fools joke?

It was intriguing, up to the point where they said they nested in the Amazon rainforest. But that alone is not that farfetched. The Marbled Murrelet, an oceanic bird of the Pacific that is superficially similar to penguins, has the unique behavior of nesting in old growth conifer forests as much as 50 miles inland in California, while all other related alcids nest on the edge of the sea.

I was hoping they discovered those six foot tall Penguins from that HP Lovecraft novella "at the mountain of Madness" which some Hollywood bigshots want to make into a movie. And that would actually lead to the discover of an advanced ancient civilization of extraterrestrials underneath antarctic ice.

Then I saw that, and I cracked up. I was like they just discovered this now, wait second this has to be a joke.
