Years ago when I was married, my husband and I would takes drives out in the middle of nowhere. Two different times we came upon a moose in the road that wasn't moving. We sat there and after awhile thought this is ridiculous, we need to get moving. We moved closer (not really close at all) and the moose did a charge at us with the hair on its back straight up. They charged, then stopped and then ran into the woods.
It's also against the law here in Finland to take a wild animal into captivity and put stupid collars on them and have them as pets.
I've seen a couple of times full grown moose with a yellow tracking GPS collar with two digit numbers. Wildlife biologists are tracking their movements to find out which areas they prefer during different seasons. It's not against the law for hunters to kill collared moose. But many hunters usually do not shoot them because they are also interested to learn more about their movements and which areas they prefer, most notably during winter.
