Those who live with me don't have a problem. Guess they quickly find their way to the kitchen or the bathroom to find the little drop they need!

then buy a dehumidifier. That should kill all ones in your house OP. problem solved.

Is it normal for people in the South to find geckos anything but cute? Up here you would win the cool lottery if you found a gecko in your house.

Dripping taps, dog or cat water dishes, residue in the shower or bathtub, condensation on the windows or elsewhere. They have their ways.

Just an update. I was never able to find him. Who knows. Maybe he found his way out. Maybe he's still here somewhere. Maybe he's dead (although, I hope not).

These comments did make me feel better. Some were pretty funny.

Don't get we wrong. I'm not sleeping in complete darkness yet. I'll wait another 2 weeks.
