I do. Yes, I live in a small town, but I bet they're in larger towns, too.
I just went out to see if UPS had made it's delivery here yet and watched as a trio of deer meandered down the street past my carport (about 15 feet away from me.) And they jump my fence (4' high) to get into my yard and eat whatever strikes their fancy. Last summer I lost most of my sunflowers to deer, and my juniper has most of the branches below 5' eaten down to nubs.
I'm kind of over thinking of deer as cute. In fact, a friend of mine refers to them as "rats on stilts". I'm thinking of changing from being just "pescatarian" to becomming "pescadeeratarian".
When I lived in the DC suburbs, I used to see large flocks of deer in most of the park areas just outside of town. I also know of a couple of instances of cars hitting deer on McArthur Blvd. which is in DC, along the Potomac river.
We have a herd here on Lab, (Jet Propulsion Laboratory). They help with the landscaping and nobody messes with them, so they stick around. We're not supposed to, but a few years ago, I had one eating out of my hand one afternoon.

Yes, in our city of 50,000 we have to drive carefully at dusk to avoid hitting them. In summer I often go out the door and run into one or more munching on our Hostas, or stealing apples from the neighbor's trees. We also see coyotes, opossums and racoons often, and the occasional bear or bobcat.
I like seeing them. Don't mind watching out for them.
However, I have stopped trying to grow a garden. They don't need it, and I never benefitted from it. I had a couple bucks in rut slam into my house one night, damaging the steel siding. A friend had a dog die when a buck in rut gored it. I feed deer as much as birds from my feeders. If you accidently surprise one and it feels cornered, it will knock you down (occasionally happens to older folks or children).
Having them in heavily populated areas does require some adjustment.
