HSUS is with peta on that as well, but they're better at marketing themselves.

If they are on the up and up with animal treatment, they don't have to eliminate all of their animal acts. The dog act is probably ok, if they don't overuse the dogs and take care of them well. They used to parade a goat around the ring. He's probably ok. But the travel, confinement, the changes in temperatures, atmospheric pressure from traveling to high altitudes in the moutains to sea level really stresses out the wild animals, elephants, big cats, zebras who were not designed by mother nature for this lifestyle no matter how stellar the vetinary care. Not sure if the horses handle it ok. I would think so since horses do travel for races, moved to different boarding stables, etc. but they are domestic animals.

Thank goodness they no longer use chimps and monkeys because they were the most abused animals of all.

Exactly. When I was a small child (about 7 years old), my mom asked me if I wanted to go to the annual Ringling Bros. Circus show when it came to town. I told her no. She was surprised and asked me why not. I told her, "Because it's animal exploitation." She was astounded that I felt that way at such a young age, but didn't press the issue, and didn't ask me again. I have never gone to any zoo or circus since I told her that, 31 years ago. They just seem wrong to me. I have gone to Cirque du Soleil precisely because humans, not animals are the entertainers.
