Bedbugs are killed by heat, over I think 120 F. But u could have them in house, too, if u r getting bites.

Very doubtful they are bed bugs.

Bed bugs can tell when a human is nearby and that is how they feed. If the bugs you found were living bed bugs, they would have worked their way upstairs to your bedroom. They don't feed on anything else but human flesh.

Also, a hot garage is the last place a bed bug would hide, as well as a curtain. Curtains go over hot windows.

Do you have a county agricultural extension agent close by? If so, could you put a couple dead ones in a jar or plastic bag and show it to someone there? I've done that in the past. I suspect if you call an exterminator, they would be delighted to tell you they are bedbugs. An extension agent would be a more neutral party to ask.

Just one question that I have never seen discussed. The OP said that they were unpacking; I presume they just moved in? I am curious if moving companies exterminate after each move (I doubt it). If they do not it is possible that they spread the bugs from one customer to another. I am curious if this is the case.

PS If the OP is interested in posting pictures they should try Photobucket: http://s1207.photobucket.com/. It is free. Just follow the direction and upload to their site after they establish an account. Then you just have to click on the picture you want to insert on you CD post. Then, on Photobucket, right click on the blown up image and hit properties. That will allow you to copy the url and then (using the insert window on you CD post) they can paste that url to this location.

I remember 8-10 years back Macy's had a big problem with bed beds in a shipment of sweaters. It wasn't realized til people started to complain after buying the sweaters off the stores racks.
