You are so misinformed. A five foot long boa is not capable of eating a cat or rabbit. Where did you get the idea she fed the snake that? At that size mice and smaller rats are what the snake eats. Also many reptile keepers don't feed live rodents but prekilled ones as it is more humane for the rodent and safer for the snake.
Many times snakes attack because they are underfed. It is hard to tell when a snake is underweight, they get hungry and obviously they go after whatever they can in a struggle to survive. In a sad case of a reticulated python who attacked and killed its owner, after veterinarians completed the necropsy, they discovered the snake was 75 pounds underweight. It only weighed 300 pounds, a state of emaciation for such a large snake. But it still physically appeared fine.

I know enough to know such snakes eat live creatures! No creature deserves such a fate! Snakes are evil! The only good snake is a dead snake! A snake got inside our house once, he had my little boy cornered. I made snake jelly out of that thing with a shovel! Hey, it was that thing, or my son---who was I going to defend?
Some snakes are good to have around. We have 2 king snake residents under our front porch. They've been here for about at least 4 yrs that we know of. They keep away the copperheads and rattlers. They are welcome guests. Before their arrival we routinely had the others.

Pretty much all predators eat live creatures. Most aren't dainty enough to wait until the prey is completely dead before beginning to feed.
Predation, as upsetting as you may find it, it a part of the natural cycle. Predators aren't evil they are merely doing what they have to do in order to survive (which is true of every living thing on the planet).
