A video of a little girl and her massive snake is making rounds on the internet. The clip shows her lounging happily on the couch — apparently watching television — with the snake wrapped around her leg. At one point in the video, the snake even yawns, and the young girl seems perfectly content.
That little girl is too young and lacking in knowledge to realize that she should have a care. Her parents are negligent fools for risking her life. If the python suddenly decides to turn on the child, even with the parents in immediate attendance they aren't strong enough and wouldn't stand a chance of getting it off her before it crushes her to death within a matter of seconds.

The parents should be held accountable for this. Far too many people make the mistake of taking pets for granted. There was an incident in Canada a few years back where a couple dropped off their kids at a friend's place who was a snake wrangler. The kids stayed overnight and somehow some snakes escaped and strangled them in their sleep.
Well, if they are being supervised, it would not kill her in seconds. It usually takes a bit of time for a constrictor to kill something. If I set up a photo like this though, as a parent and someone who loves snakes, I'd be sitting right there the whole time with a bottle of strong alcohol on hand. Because (a fact not everyone knows) if a snake has a hold of you, if you pour strong alcohol (rubbing alcohol, or vodka, anything like that) all over its face, it will immediately let go, release any constriction, and try to escape. It really freaks them out, and I can't blame them, but it doesn't do them real harm.
Personally I don't think that people should necessarily have certain creatures as pets. That includes venomous snakes, and constrictors that grow to enormous size. Also certain monitor lizards, gators, caiman. I mean, are you REALLY prepared to give that animal proper care for the duration of its life? Really? If you aren't, then don't get it as a pet. I adore snakes, but you can't really domesticate them...they just don't have the brainpower for it. And there are plenty of perfectly lovely snakes that don't have the ability to kill a person. Get a ball python. They're cute.
