This morning at 1:45am we were awakened by the howling of a coyote, right outside our bedroom window, left slightly open for fresh air. He only did it 5-6 times, but it's eerie. We see them around the neighborhood once in a while in the early morning, but in our 23 years here have never heard one howl. Then I am driving to work at 5am about 2 miles away and a low-flying Barred Owl almost hit my windshield. Both creepy, and a strange coincidence to happen on Halloween.
