Apparently for over a century scientists have been debating whether flamingos are native to Florida and the consensus has been that they are not native. However new studies prove that flamingos are in fact native to Florida.
I've always thought it amazing that flamingos are found on every continent except Antarctica and Australia. Very very few other species can claim that! For plants I think its yarrow and fireweed.
Have a flamingos living around San Diego bay right now. No zoos are missing any and this one has a leg band.
