My natural cowhide dance shoes have lasted me a hell of a lot longer than a pair of synthetic leather ones I bought a while back, where the seam down the back of the heel split. The real leather ones have lasted me 10 years.

I agree this is a "sort of" dilemma, BUT, IMO, the cows are already being turned into beef, so there you have the hide. Whereas the fur is only being used on fur animals, and the idea is superfluous.

I'm glad they have banned this practice.

developmentally, hair and fur are no different, which includes wool...

does that mean they banned raising sheep for wool too?

Sheep are sheared to get their wool; animals are killed for fur.

Were you under the impression that sheep that are raised for wool get killed and skinned for their wool instead of getting a "haircut" every year? You've never heard of sheep shearing?

Why shouldn't they ban it? They have over 5 BILLION barrels of proven oil reserves, with a population of about 5 MILLION. They don't need the money.
