Never saw one like this before. I identified it, one of it's names is a black and yellow garden spider. It's name pretty much is a good description and found in garden. I first noticed it and took a picture of it's web, has zig-zag pattern around what I thought maybe eggs, but didn't see spider. Looked again next day and found spider....will post pictures, hope they work.
Couldn't add my own but here is the link to a picture of one.

This is the web I found, not my picture but like one I found.

Yes, spiders are kind of creepy but such interesting creatures.

This species is very interesting to watch. If it is in a place where you can observe it everyday, you will enjoy it. I had one near my porch swing and I got to watch it a lot.

I've done the same with this same spider...so interesting, colorful, behavior fascinating. Love spiders too.

Did you see uggabugga's pic of a Wolf spider on Nature?? Beautiful, with egg sac attached.

I get at least 1 every yr that builds a large web just on the other side of my kitchen window. We always call them Writing spiders. They are different. But generally they're all around my house under the outdoor lights.
