Greatest Snow Pack Depth in the mountains on both sides of the valley in 30 years.......167% of normal, is the description of the NWS.
As of a few days ago the Clark Fork River that flows through Missoula, and the various rivers (Bitterroot, Blackfoot, etc,) that feed into the C.F., are all at Flood Stage............obviously this has happened several times in the last 30 years,......however, due to the 167% of normal snow pack, the length of the time frame for river and Stream flooding will probably extend into the first and second weeks of June......possibly even later.
Due to these nice warm temps (70s for highs & 30s for lows, ) the 90 to 100 Aspen I have on my place have come into full leaf In the last 7 days.....their lemon/lime colored leaves are a great contrast with the very dark colored green of the Pondarosa Pines that number in the hundreds as a back drop for the Aspen.
Thousands of little wild flowers of several species have popped up All Over mixed in with the wild grasses and wild mushrooms .......thus it's a Dining Feast for the Wildlife!!!!!
Spring Time in the Rockys is a great time of year!!!!!!!!!!!
