She’s got too much common sense to have actually helped momma bear, so she never would have tried it, but she would have desperately wanted to pick that little black bundle up with all her heart.

Just when you feel you've lost your faith in humanity, we get a story like this. So sweet. This happens in VT quite a bit actually. Everyone will stop to allow some critter or other to cross the road. Last time it was turkeys with their babies. I love the cop showing up at the end.
