A little graphic.

Just wondering what the chicken did to the rat. I'm not too familiar with chickens but I know they have spurs on their legs. I see no blood though. Can a chicken kick a rat hard enough to kill it?

The chicken kicked the rat hard enough the rat went flying at least a foot. It looks like it had a lot of force.

Poor rat was minding his own business when the chicken charged at it. That rat must have thought it was a honey badger.

The rat got what it deserved. He repeatedly went after the chicken when he could have run away. He probably thought the chicken would be an easy meal. Rats are well known to attack birds to kill and eat them.

An interesting side note is that the second chicken (maybe a rooster) came into the picture ready to do battle with the rat in case the first chicken needed help.

I'm not going to watch your video, but I can tell you from experience that when a chicken means to peck you with aggression, it really hurts. It hurts when they strike you with their wings, and it hurts when they kick you.

Chickens are mini-dinosaurs and they are carnivorous.

Looks like a blow to the head. I imagine they ate the rat. They eat mice, frogs, salamanders, and small snakes.

I watched a chicken steal a mouse from our barn kitty and swallow it whole... and maybe still alive.

Chickens are ruthless!

^^This.

I've seen them gang up on a snake. They will eat smaller mice. It's no stretch that they can muster enough force to kill a rat.

LOL. They are comical, aren't they. My chickens used to get mice, whip around centipedes as long as they are. One would take a hot dog right out of my dog's mouth, lol.
