Well Robert, I don't know if you've solved your problem yet, but just in case... have you considered contacting a local university or college biology department? They would have experience with dissecting all sorts of critters and may be able to help. If there isn't a college handy, maybe the local high school biology dept head could help.

The turtle is now resting in peace in my yard -- until next year. Doing it the old fashion way.
