Go to Google, and type in geese repellent. There are many ways to help you solve this problem.

I just saw a program where dogs are used to deter geese. It is actually a business but anyone could do it for their own private needs. Basically a herding type or water type dog, such as a lab or Australian Shepherd is trained to chase off the geese. They run at them, even jump in the water and scare them off. Naturally the bird come back at first, but after being chased off enough most leave as it is no fun to be scared by a dog. You could use one or two dogs in this manner. This business I saw the show on had their dogs hired by golf courses for the most part. Lets face it geese make a big mess and can be a nuisance so golf courses like this service.

Well, the geese were there first and aren't usually dangerous... what's the problem with just leaving them alone?

What's wrong with geese...? They poop! God forbid anyone step in it. I suggest draining the lake and paving it over.

The problems is probably the poop and the noise. Have you ever been in an area with a lot of geese? They make a huge mess. They just get tired of being hassled and fly to the next area of water to settle in.

Go buy yourself a cheap laser pointer. They can't stand it. Once you prove to yourself that it really works, go buy a cheap rotating laser level. Harbor Freight is a good place.

I had a mating pair come to my pond every day for two weeks. I didn't want dead geese in the pond, so I would splash up the water with 15 rounds of semi-auto .22 all around them. They would fly, and come back the next day. I finally pointed my laser level at them. They never came back.
I still see them in the pond across the street with their filthy little hatchlings.

I would rather walk thru 5 miles of Goose crap than step on one pile of dog crap. Geese eat grass and only partially digest it. Dogs eat meat and pretty much everything else. Give it the smell teste sometime.

We live near a lake where there's plenty of geese and they make way more of a mess than dogs whose poop is solid (and whose owners almost always pick up after them). The town even hired a company to come and scoop up goose poop, it's so bad, no fun dodging it for walkers, joggers, bicylists etc - w/o going into details, it's pretty darn gross.
