We are a family of 5. Kids are in 3rd grade, K and preschool. We don't know anything about the Midwest.
We have always lived in the Northeast.

We'd like to get some input about the area. How easy is to get someplace to rent? Where should we look? Is Craigslist used to get rentals? Where to look? What's a good area for a family to live?

How are the schools?
Activities for the kids?
Cost of living?

This is off the top of my mind, but is there any other information we should know?

Thanks in advance

I live just outside of columbus, its a good town with a good number of jobs. Not alot of people use craigslist out here. Its mostly in the citys( omaha, lincoln) For rentals you can look online at the newspaper. It is The Columbus Telegram Online | Columbus, Nebraska

There are some church schools and of course the public schoools as well as a number of homeschoolers in the area. I homeschool so I can't really speak to the quality of schools. There seem to be some good activities, swimming, sports, YMCA, etc. Shopping is pretty good, there are 2 main grocery stores, plus walmart. We have for clothing, JC Penny, The Buckle, CATO, Christopher and Banks. Cost of living is very reasonable especially compared to the NE.
I hope that helps you some.
