do only students rent there or are there some adults who live there as well?

I'm looking at a 2 bedroom with incredibly cheap rent, kinda like it but I wonder who my neighbors will be?

My daughter and her husband live in the Havelock area. Their neighborhood is very nice, older homes, quiet area. They have 2 neighbors who lived there for over 30 years. At least that is the area they live in.

Havelock is not bad but not good either. It's not really close to anything other than a couple fast food places and gas stations, plus a Russ's Market. It's really far from the UNL main campus, anything in south Lincoln and still a decent distance to the shopping spots. Most of Havelock is middle class older homes. There's not much crime there. I don't think too many students live there.

Thanks for your answers. That's exactly what I wanted to know. I kind of thought if the rent was cheap maybe students would live there even though it was a little far from campus. I don't need to live in a great neighborhood, just a safe, cheap, quiet one .

My niece, a school teacher, just bought a lovely little bungalow in Havelock. (Havelock was annexed by Lincoln many years ago.) Havelock is quaint, maintains its original historic downtown (much like Omaha's Dundee area), and has an extremely charming appeal. This area boasts one of the few "spots" in southeast Nebraska that is home to the black squirrels. They are so cute! My niece loves Havelock. My sister, her mother, says that whenever she needs to do a little "get away" she spends the night with my niece and they enjoy her backyard little deck and star gaze. My sis lives in the heart of Lincoln and considers Havelock a "treasure"!
