I am currently being considered for a position in Grand Island, Nebraska. I just graduated from college about two months ago so I want to know, if this is a place that I would be able to enjoy and possibly meet girls.

Which are the safest parts of town to rent?

What is it like in the winter?

Best kind of car for the type of environment?

Also, I would like to know why do you also need a tag in the front of your car in Nebraska.

Where are you moving from?

I applied for and was interviewed at one of the schools in Grand Island. I wasn't too impressed with the town. A lot of residents are hispanic and work at the meat packing plant. I'm sure a lot of them are illegal. Just a few years ago the meat plant was busted by ICE for hiring illegals.

I wasn't offered the position, but I wasn't going to take it anyways. For comparison, Kearney is similar in size, but feels more sophisticated.

Winter will be cold and snowy, but not as bad as the upper Midwest. You can expect snow from October to March (sometimes April). Any car will be fine, but I'd probably invest in a set of winter tires.

A front plate is required in many states, Nebraska included. It's just state law, sorry.
