Hi,

I am Cuban and arrived to this great country (Legally) 8 years ago. I (still ) learned English, never got any welfare assistance and worked hard since the beginning. After a couple of years i joined the Army and I am currently stationed at Fort Benning, GA. I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and next year my active service will end. I am married to a Cuban (bilingual) woman and thinking about start my family in Omaha.
I would like your opinion. I will be an Army Veteran, White Hispanic, 33 years old, College educated, married guy trying to find a job (maybe pursue a masters degree) and to be a positive member of the society.

TIA, Raul:.

The only way to know for sure if you'll like Omaha is to give it a try. But I think you'll fit right in.

Raul,
Both Omaha or Lincoln would be a good fit for you. Both cities have a lot of Insurance corporations and Health Care jobs so demand for CS and IT is high. Being bilingual will also help in job opportunities.

Thanks for going about obtaining citizenship the LEGAL way. This country will always need good, honest immigrants willing to do things legally.

Omaha is very much like the fast paced California. The rest of Nebraska is slower paced and enjoyable. It depends on your personal preference... personally, I prefer small towns.

Omaha would be a good choice given your background and degree in Computer Science, there would be far more jobs and companies looking for your skills. Lincoln nice but smaller and more of a college town with related jobs.
