Are there any Flea Markets indoors/outdoors, in McCook NE? Would this area be able to support one year round on weekends only?

The wife and I are planning on moving here in future and we were wondering if leasing one of the vacant stores on "C" street near Norris Ave. would be a place to have one and use the sidewalks in front when nice out. Kind of like when they used to have Krazy Daze in the 60's and 70's.

There is none that I know of. I don't know about support because of the areas population numbers but with it weekends only, it might.

Not sure but I think that McCook had one 5-6 years ago in the old Gary's Peddler building on J Street but it closed. Not enough traffic to support it and the location wasn't good. McCook just isn't big enough for that kind of business. That building is now mainly rented out for auctions.

ETA: What I wish we had here is a good craft store, like Hobby Lobby in Kearney, which is huge (by Nebraska standards). Walmart has a pretty good basic crafts section and Alco a smaller one. Several years ago Ben Franklin (now closed) sold off their crafts section and the buyer opened a store on Norris Ave. It closed after a short while. Maybe that building was too high rent, since it was on Norris Ave. in the main business section. I recently went to Ben Franklins in North Platte and still couldn't find the crochet thread I wanted. Maybe you could look into opening a small Hobby Lobby franchise here but Rita of Rita's Frame Shop wouldn't be too happy about that, as she has the only framing shop in town. (And she is rather pricey, too.)

Good luck with whatever you decide.
