DEAR NEBRASKA FRIENDS!!

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS SEASON & MANY BLESSINGS FOR 2021!!

How do you all celebrate the Holidays? How do you celebrate Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the entire Holiday Season?

What do you all eat, as main dishes, desserts, treats, drinks, etc. for the entire Holiday Season?

Any special desserts, drinks & or meals unique to Nebraska?

I would love to hear how does the beautiful State of Nebraska celebrate Christmas, New Years, etc. Family traditions, etc. Thanks in advance!

Best of wishes to all! Please stay safe, healthy & happy!

Christmas Eve at mother's side ('Caroling' at Senior center, followed by midnight Candlelight service, mixed congregation of (3) local churches that merged)
Christmas Day at father's side. (Yum, dinner rolls in round pans, cooked using the kerosene oven on the back porch. ) Lots and lots of singing!!

I always worked holidays when possible (more pay, less hectic, NO BOSSES!, appreciative customers)

For many families, the Christmas Eve menu is passed down through the generations.

Folks of Danish descent dine on aebelskivers and chicken dumpling soup.

The soup recipe came to America with Jean McKinnon’s great-grandmother. Today, her mother Delores Bailey carries on the tradition.

“The aroma of the soup as we walk in the front door immediately takes us back to Christmases past remembering loved ones who once shared in the tradition, but are no longer with us,” writes McKinnon of Denton.
